Staff and Board Members
The Converse County Conservation District is governed by a board of five supervisors. Supervisors are locally elected officials who serve without pay. By state statute three are rural, one is urban and one is designated as at-large. They are elected to staggered four-year terms. Supervisors attend monthly board meetings and are also involved in overseeing the activities of the District.
Converse County Conservation District will have four seats on the ballot for the Board of Supervisors this year.
Two are rural seats (any registered voter not living within the boundaries of an incorporated city) and one is at-large (any registered voter living within the boundaries of Converse County – rural or urban).
The fourth position on the ballot will be for the urban seat (any registered voter living within an incorporated city) and will be for the unexpired term of the seat until 2028 at which time the position will be on the ballot again for the regular 4-year term.
The detailed powers and duties of conservation district supervisors can be found in Wyoming State Statute 11-16-122. Supervisors generally are charged with helping to develop effective natural resource programs within the district.
Obligations include:
- Attend 12 regularly scheduled board meetings per year
- Attend special meetings as required (i.e. Area meeting in September)
- Attend the Wyoming Association of Conservation Districts annual meeting in November
- Attend other functions and events as required by the district’s programs
Supervisor elections are held during the general election in November on the general ballot on a nonpartisan basis. District supervisors are elected to 4 year terms. All registered voters in the district are eligible to vote for district supervisor positions. Please note that the filing dates for this year are between August 5, 2026 and August 24, 2026. Filing paperwork can be obtained at Converse County Conservation District or at the Converse County Clerk's office in Douglas.

The Converse County Conservation District holds Board Meetings the third Thursday of each month starting at 4:30pm. We welcome your input, ideas, questions, and concerns regarding our projects and programs! Meetings are open to the public pursuant to Wyoming Statute 16-4-403. |
