Wildlife and Non-game Animals

 

Goal One:  The Converse County Conservation District will promote the importance of wildlife and non-game animals to Converse County.

 

Action:  The district will provide education on the various species within the county.

 

Action:  The district will educate landowners on possible ways to

utilize wildlife and non-game animals in their resource management plans.

 

Action:  The district will educate the public on the importance of

wildlife to recreation, the local economy,  and agriculture. 

                                                                                                                             

 

Goal Two:  The Converse County Conservation District will promote the importance of  conserving wildlife habitat.

 

Action:  The district will provide education on the importance of

wetlands and riparian areas as wildlife habitat.

 

Action:  The district will inform landowners on cost share programs to enhance wildlife habitat.

 

Action:  The district will promote the use of wildlife ramps in livestock tanks.
