Weeds and Pests

 

Goal One:  The Converse County Conservation District will promote

effective management of weeds.

Action:  The district will have an informational booth and speak at the Weed and Pest Growers Show in December 2008.

 

Action:  The district will provide informational brochures to participants of the Household Hazardous Waste and Pesticide Collection Day.

 

Action:  The district will utilize a Wyoming Department of Agriculture pesticide grant to host a Household Hazardous Waste and Pesticide Collection Day in September of 2009.

                                                                                                                             

Goal Two:  The Converse County Conservation District will promote

effective management of pests.

Action:  The district will make available reference material for pests of trees and shrubs.

 

Action:  The district will educate the public on public health threats that come from pests, such as the West Nile virus.

Agricultural Lands

 

Goal One:  The Converse County Conservation District will provide

education on rangeland management practices and native grasses.

Action:  The district will enhance and maintain the native grass plots

located at the Wyoming State Fairgrounds.                                                  

 

Action:  The district will provide a donation to teams attending range judging competitions.

 

Goal Two:  The Converse County Conservation District will promote

effective management of agricultural lands.

Action:  The district will provide information on cost share  programs available to landowners to increase range quality and/or agricultural

productivity.

 

Action:  The district will promote the importance of conservation

planning and assist in the creation of those plans.

 

Action:  The district will provide irrigation water management information and education.
